Playbook as Ereader

Have to buy new ereader, have done lots of research on playbook all positive but there is hardly any info on using it to reading books. can i just take the playbook out of the box, load an epub book and start reading or do i have to get an appp, also have anyone use it mainly for an ereader. thx

It's more fiddly than that in my opinion. I might have a copy protected DRM file and have to register my reader and more.

Plus since the OS by RIM is now a dead one, apps for the readers may not be updated. The good news is that RIM offered a way to install Android. And just like all good news, the new Apple court winnings may have RIM withdraw that.

I'm sure in your research you've learned all that by now. It's a great chunk of hardware but I see no compelling reason for selecting this one.
