I have the Blackberry Curve 8330. It is presently without contract. I have been able to add apps through the Blackberry Desktop. Regrettably, I cannot use it to install the Audible.com audio book app. I have the .JAD file on the curve and seek some alternate way to launch it.

Hoping for some informed guidance

It's likely the connection is required to validate your account and for the usual DRM issues.

I think you don;t having certain privilege to install App on your BBM, you must need to validate your account sometime these problem occur due to your validation process. You need to pay money then I think you will be the register user and easily install App on your cell. I have the same Problem when I trying to install Blackberry Tracker App on my Phone. Due to not having certain privilege I was unable to install it on my BBM

Continued Correspondence [ Blackberry App Installs]

Greetings:

Please know that there is additional information I should offer for this issue. I cancelled my Sprint cellular contract and have no carrier for this device as of this writing. I am trying to follow a post from another forum that describes a way to install apps to the device without benefit of an internet connection. It can be found at:

My only interest is in installing a single app, a media player for audio books. The audiobook content file and the app "audible.jad" both exist on the blackberry. The solution has apparently worked for others but the post is dated and the author has not responded to recent queries. The last step would be to install this app to the phone. Hoping that someone in this blackberry community has the experience and interest to continue with this post.
