Blackberry ID is locked (2nd time)

I have a Blackberry Curve 3G (9330) from Verizon. I have been fighting with the Blackberry ID for some time now. I have been able to change the password before, but it will only work for a little while. I always remember my secret question and password, but when I try to log into the App World I get an error message saying "unable to authenticate user id and password".
This is the second time my ID has been locked. I tried getting it unlocked via the computer and my phone, but nothing works. I can't just get a new Blackberry ID because it's attached to the PIN of my phone. Even if I could get a new ID, the apps I've already downloaded are attached to the one I already have.
I'm afraid I'll have to call RIM and have them fix it if they can. Does anyone have a better idea? I love my Blackberry, but if this is never going to be fixed I will go to a different phone next time.
