I just built home and ran (6) Cat5e cables throughout the home because I am tired of slow, laggy performance from wireless routers. All of the wires are run to my basement where my ISP will be coming into the home.
The setup I was imagining was to use a Netgear GS608 in my basement to "gather" the 6 cables and the line from my ISP. Then I was going to use another few Netgear GS605's throughout my home to connect various equipment; AppleTV, Smart TV, XBox 360, PS3, ect. Lastly, I was going to install a wireless router on the main floor coming from the last Cat5e cable for my laptop, phone, ect.
Will this setup work and/or cause any problems? I am not sure if having a wireless router behind the switch would cause any problems. I am also unsure if having multiple switches behind each other could cause any problems.
Thank you in advance!
