Ok, I have my computer and my playstation3 hooked up by HDMI cables on a Denon avr-1712 receiver which, in turn, goes to a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE630U HDTV by a 25ft long HDMI cable.
Usually, everything works fine but when i start a game on the PS3, big band of noise keep flashing on the screen, which seem to indicate a signal loss. It seem to happen because the game turns the resolution to 720p instead of the usual 1080p of my computer or the PS3 menu screen. I tried testing the 720p resolution in the display settings of the PS3 and the problem appear again.
So, my questions are:
- Does it make any sense that a 1080p signal would be perfect and a 720p signal would fail? Is the 720p signal strengh somehow weaker through the wires?
-What should I do? Is there some way to boost the signal or should I get a more expensive HDMI cable to reach the TV? (Igot a fairly cheap 25ft cable)
Thank you
