TV MOUNT OVER FIREPLACE

I am looking to mount my TV over the fireplace. Are there any concerns regarding heat to the set? Also, are there any concerns for the power and HDMI cables that are going to be snaked? If anyone has suggestions or equipment they reccomend, please let me know.

But since you didn't mention the type of wall; brick, rock, wood, sheetrock, or the type of studs, it's a standard operation.

try to mount it to the studs or solid wood which should not be too big a problem because it's hidden behind the TV.

Dealing with components when tv mount over fireplace

I had an electrician move my outlet to behind where I wanted the tv and then bought a floating shelf for the components. I got the shelf from http://flatscreenshelving.com but also see that they are available at Amazon as well and have free shipping.
