TV mounting

Ok, so at my new place there's a gas fireplace (with no chimney, on/off switch activated) and it's the focal point of the living room (there's nowhere else to put a tv, theres a closet and staircase on one side and a window on the other. I want to mount a TV here (I'm thinking a 46" Samsung LED TV for less weight). What I want to know is...is there a specific kind of tv mount I need to buy in order to mount this above the fireplace or will any do (special screws/nuts/bolts), any potential dangers of mounting above fireplace?

tv mount over fireplace

we had the same problem and ended up trying this mount that moves the tv out and down when you want to watch it, then it goes back up again for storage. we found the tv gets a little hot when it's all the way up, so we leave it about halfway down and it's far enough off the wall that the heat goes behind it. the mount's made by Dynamic Mount and I would recommend it.
