Help with home netwok

What is the maximum computers that wold be recommended for on single bradband connection, So all the users can enjoy surfing the net? And what recomendations are there for home routers and such gadgets needed?

it depends on the speed of the connection and if people will only browse the web. I have 3 computers on my home network and when all three are just used to web browse there is ussualy no problem, but when there is streaming media involved or maybe even file sharing the other two can slow down, sometimes painfully slow, but with just web browsing there wouldn't be a big issue of having up to five computers sharing the internet all at once.

6 computers sharing a 56k dialup via a router I made myself. The scout troop seemed to think it was amazing. So it depends on the audience.
