Internet connection to flat panel lcd hdtv tv

hi i was got this dell tv. it is a flat panel hdtv.
it can connect to a pc as well watch cable tv.
i am using this tv as my pc monitor as well as my regular watching tv.
now i want to connect to the internet how do i do this?
if i plug my cable (coaxail cable) to the modem of my internet how can i watch cable tv now?
can anyone help me

The cable problem...

Cable TV goes to TV, Cable Internet goes to PC, PC goes to HDTV....far too many cables, but let's give this a try.

You have cable TV, and cable internet for PC, and you'd like to know if your PC can pass the TV through the PC, so you don't have to keep swapping plugs behind the TV? Close enough?

The problem here is cable is only a wire. A PC even using cable internet is still not a cable TV receiver. Just because TV and internet come down the same cable does not make them compatible with each other. So you need a PC TV card that can accpet cable TV input.

1. Cable Internet goes to PC
2. Cable TV goes to PC TV card (make sure you buy one that has input for cable TV) and may require a cable splitter to make two wires. Your cable provider will advise.
3. PC goes to HDTV

....and there you have it. PC can now surf and watch TV, and display on your HDTV.

Coaxial Cable splitter.

You can get them from the electronics section at any store, they cost about $5.

Internet and TV run on different frequencies. If you think about it this makes sense. All of the Coaxial Cables in your house connect to one spot outside. This one spot is still a coaxial cable.

If you cant find them at in the electronics dept. try a hard ware store, in wiring.

This should allow you to use the PC in Aux and the Cable TV on all other channels.
