Boobgate... what's the big deal?

What difference does it make if Apple arbitrarily determines what it will allow into its store? Is this any different than what any other retail establishment does? Or what CNET does when it chooses to cover one story but not another. These companies all have the right to run their businesses the way they see fit. And every one of us makes censorship decisions each day.
There's a big difference in censorship in the marketplace and censorship at a government level. The first should surprise nobody. The second kind should scare the heck out of all of us. Going ape over a store choosing to sell one boobie program and not another sort of devalues the importance of real government censorship we should all be a concerned with. The hype about this on the web seems a little over the top.
There are, after all, other smart phone phones out there for you if porn apps are that important to you. I'm guessing that controlling their store image through a little app pruning, was just a smart business move for Apple.
