Google Calendar has been down for at least 7 hours now

A brief Twitter search shows that this is true for *lots* of people, though apparently not all. Going to one's calendar just brings you to this page:

http://www.google.com/googlecalendar/unavailable.html

which doesn't really tell you anything.

Plus there's no news coverage AFAICT. And nothing official from Google: Google's "App Status Dashboard" does not admit that there are any issues: http://www.google.com/appsstatus

If the future means that we're going to rely on the cloud, then we're going to need to be able to rely on the cloud. My calendar is cached on my Android phone, but a lot of people have gone through their entire Friday not knowing when their appointments were.

is why I refuse to use "cloud" apps. I'll keep my apps on my local system and working, tyvm.
