front panel lights too bright, business opportunity

from the 5/15 podcast about front panel lights sometimes being too bright, I also suggest many displays are too bright for the setting of their end user.

brought to mind a good business opportunity; a glass-like transparent tape, that was tinted like sunglasses and allows the consumer to tape over the display, perhaps in layers, to custom darken the LED or display to the desired brightness.

Glossy and flat finishes. Cures equipment with that blinking 12:00 error.

Its called electric tape...or for those more permanently inclined (at lease after a year or so) DuctTape.

Simple strip of electricians tape

It comes in many colors and you might be able to match a decor. I used a strip of black glossy tape to cover the HUGE "VIZIO" logo just below the screen. When on, it is very bright, when off, a subdued but distracting blue. Care needs to be taken when covering lights/LEDs so that you don't also cover up the IR sensor for the remote.
