Buzz Out Loud Lounge forum: Has the Vista- iTunes incompatiblity been resolved?

Well I think I might be able to shed some light on your situation. I upgraded to Vista 64-bit from xp 32-bit. It's like being on steroids (lots of power) but now all of your clothes don't fit quite right(32-bit software can get wankie sometimes)

So as for the iTunes delema, I can run iTunes with hardly any problems. I say hardly because once in a while it doesn't sink the first time, so I have to unplug my ipod and just plug it back in again. Podcasts have become my main source for entertainment lately especially driving to work! I say don't be afraid of vista. I actually like it more than XP.

As for the option to get a mac. That is also a good choice because now you can have the best of both worlds. I am a pc person. At work we have mac minis and mac pro. Though I have gotten use to the mac, I still dive into windows every chance I get. But as a home user, I think the mac would give you the greatest possible amount of choices. Windows runs very solidly under bootcamp and have no problems seeing the difference running it on a mac.

You may be sacrificing some programs, but if you already have xp to install, I think the newest version that is coming out of apple's OS, is supposed to already come with bootcamp if I'm not mistaken. So there would be no extra purchase if you waited to get your computer then. We at work have used as little as 5GB partition for the windows side. That would be the bare minimum! I would suggest a 10GB size or 30 if you can afford the space.

Mostly the programs that don't run in both mac and win are the smaller programs that aren't being distributed by big names. You will find a lot more freeware/shareware programs for windows than mac just for the fact that win has the majority marked share and more people are witting programs for it. But it is slowly changing the more popular the mac is getting especially being able to run both win and mac.
