global warming *radical* solution...

WARNING - presented is a very radical idea...still, I totally expect a bunch of flame from it...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I was talkin' with some friends about global warming and climate change in general. An idea came up that was hard to swallow and gave us pause:
*****
If the *general* public in most industrialized countries (and thus the reason why there are so many non-carbon neutral processes and NOX emissions that accelerate climate change) are apathetic to doing anything about the issue AND the climate change "point-of-no-return" date is in the near future or has already passed...should then there be less people to create bio-BTU's, need coal-produced electricity, get around in fossil-fuel autos, etc.? Should all industrialized countries have a population cap of sorts?
*****
for our sake...I continue to look toward to "closed loop" solutions that the general public embrace. and sooner than later...
but I thought I'd put this out there to all of you - being the super smart folks that you are.
Best wishes,
Shalin
