Hello everyone! Thanks for even viewing my post, and thanks for any advice!
Okay so I am kind of in a rut. I am looking to purchase a capture device to record game play from my Xbox 360, but I have also been dying to transfer old VHS and mini dv tapes to my computer. Problem is I none of my computers have a fire-wire connection. So i was wondering if any one knows of good quality capture devices that also have a fire wire input? Thanks again!!

I don't see any that use firewire as the input since any PC that had firewire would not need any box. And there is no Firewire to USB convertor so that again makes me write there is no such thing.

None of computers have firewire. so i need a another way to transfer it. And yes there is no firewire to usb wire, but I am pretty sure a capture device imports the media as what ever the format is and stores it and then from there you can transport it. correct me if i am wrong.
And such a thing would require a PC.

There is some Sony thing that you connect with firewire and it puts it on DVD then I rip that on the PC but again, what you are describing is a PC with firewire.

What a pain these things are.
Your choice but be sure you can return it. Might work for someone.
When I need to capture firewire I use my desktop or my laptop with firewire. Those that didn't learn this lesson get to repeat it.

I will get one of those anyway just to record gameplay and if it works for my camera, fine. If not i will transfer the tapes at school. How long does it take to transfer a two tape? Two hours?
If the tape is 1 hour, 1 hour.

These systems transferred at 1 to 1 speeds.
