So, i get it - price might not be an issue...but, i'm a little concerned about quality. i've owned a PS3 since fall of '07. for the second time in as many years the thing has become a $500 paper weight. The drive just stopped playing/loading disks. First time it happened, thank God, the thing was (barely) still under warranty. They "fixed" it...then, 3 weeks ago, the same thing. Now they want me to pay $150 bucks (minimum) to have the thing serviced - for the same problem it was in the shop for not quite a year ago? And from what I can gather, this is NOT an isolated incident - many other PS3's exhibiting the same issue. Way to back your product, Sony.
So, now I'm left with a conundrum: go with the new, cheaper, more powerful slim and chance getting a shoddy product again? or go with the xbox? any suggestions? anyone? anyone? bueller?
