I don't think there is one since all of these things are just external fans, and that's along the lines of a band-aid for a bullet wound. They just make additional noise, waste additional electricity, and provide little to no benefit.

There could be a lot of reasons why yours seems cooler. I'll just assume you put an infrared thermometer inside each one while running to get some kind of quantifiable results, not some fuzzy "this one seems hotter" sort of thing.

But there could be a large number of environmental factors contributing to one system running warmer than the other. The warmer system may not have as adequate air flow, it might be older and thus have more dust buildup inside, it could be an older design more prone to heat issues in general, the ambient temperature of the environment around one system may be higher than another... That's just off the top of my head.

Some of the various cooling attachments for the 360 supposedly void the warranty, so you'll want to make sure you don't use one of those (not totally sure how they'd be able to tell though). Honestly, the best remedy for an overly warm 360 is to keep it in the open, not on some cramped shelf in a TV stand or cabinet,and to have decent airflow around it so the same warm air isn't hanging around the console to be sucked back in.
