Upgrade Mobile Intel 965 express chipset to support DX9

Hi, I bought a new Sony Vaio and it came with Windows vista and intel graphic card (Mobile Intel 965 express chipset). I'm looking to upgrade my Mobile Intel 965 express chipset graphics card to support Dx9 on Window Vista as one of my new game(race 07) is not working. I tried to installed few of the drivers from the Intel site but for some reason I get some error saying that this driver is not supported on this OS. I tried all the stuffs but without any luck. Can somebody suggest me how to go about it. I would really apperciate your quick response Thanks.

System Specs:
Sony Vaio R series
Intel Dual Core
1 GB Ram
120GB Hard Drive (I don't know the RPM, etc., it came with PC)
Windows vista Home premium 32 bits

You should have DX10.

But let's skip back to the usual laptop video gaming issue. I see your laptop is the usual Intel GMA video "solution."

There is no "card" or such we can replace to give you true 3D video card performance so your best bet is to pack it all up and return it so you can shop for a gaming laptop.

what would be other bet as i have already bought this and have no time left to return it back.. I did check the configuration and you are right i have DX10.. One more thing, I checked the Intel support site and they say Mobile Intel 965 express chipset is DX9 compatiable.. Man this is killing me ..

At least in theory so there is no going back or installing DX9.

-> I won't write about installing XP or such since we have that in our Vista forum.

Sorry to see you can't return it. It obviously is not the right laptop.

Another Laptop

I have one more laptop which have Win XP pro and have DX9c installed but i dont whether its graphic supports it

specs are
OS- Win XP pro
Graphic card - Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family
Ram - 2 GB
80 GB hard disk
intel pentium(R) M processor 1.8g ghz

Will this worth of making the game work becuase even i faced some problem running the game

That's not a 3D chip or "gaming" video display.

That's just another of the same "GMA" or such video "solutions." The fix for these is to go get a "gaming" laptop. These often have various ATI or Nvidia chipsets with about 256MB video ram.

If you want to play games on laptops, why buy these?

GTA4 on Mobile Intel 965

Hi) Can anyone help me with such an issue?..
I have a laptop with
windows vista,
intel core duo 1.8,
3GB RAM,
250GB HD,
and mobile intel 965 family chipset video card.
It is said that there are 128+230=358 mb of memory in the graphics card. But the game GTA4 can see only those 128mb and no more, however it needs at least 210mb for normal play.Now the maximum framerate is 3fps in the game.
Does anybody know, how can I force the game to use all the memory?

idk why but mine only use 128 either how can i force it mine is sam mobile 965 intel thing how do i force it who ever knows can u mail me sha06231@hotmail.com or msn
