ps3 HDMI - DVI-I Sound question

Hey I just got a ps3 a bit ago (I'm a true gamer and just want the systems in case if a good game comes out [FFXIII, MGS, and Devil May Cry] other wise I'm totally for The Big N and Microsoft.) but anyways I wanna connect my ps3 to my monitor because my big screen doesn't have HDMI and I don't ever plan on getting a game for it that is multiplayer "fun". So with that said my computer has a DVI-I input so I ordered an HDMI to DVI converter and I'm going to through that in but as I understand DVI doesn't support sound like HDMI does so can I just plug the s-video or component cables from my ps3 to my speakers and will that work, or how would I go about doing that? Thank you in advance!
