Hello forum. I hope this is in the right place.
I have a youtube channel which contains videos of beautiful girls from the internet. I make no money from these videos, I just do this for fun.
So I got a message on another site where I was talking about my youtube channel. One person said they were going to sue me for Copyright infringement. can they do this? This person i know for sure doesn't own any of these videos, but they maybe upset by them.
Surely is a youtube issue and they can report my channel like any other. or can they really sue me for it personally? I am from the UK and this person lives in the USA
Any advise is welcome. Thanks

That's an interesting question.
- With youtube being in the USA and you in the UK, the first question is going to be if USA laws or UK laws apply. Your lawyer can tell you.
- Once it's known which law applies the question is how it will be applied. Here your lawyer can advise you, although he final decision in the possible case is to the judge, of course. You might be ordered to pay a license, for example, or to remove the video.
If you're sure that person isn't the owner of the copyright, he might not be able to do anything serious. Again: ask you lawyer.

it's never a good idea to publish a copyrighted thing without permission of the owner of the copyright. Unless the UK law (which I don't know) say it's allowed if for fun, but I doubt if that's the case.
So I wouldn't be amazed at all if your lawyer advises you to remove them. It's not a youtube issue. If you published them it's a you-issue.
The accepted thing to do is to publish a link only to video's you like on your personal blog or website, without copying it. That could be nearly just as much fun, don't you think?

It you own the content and get the releases from the girls and it's all signed off on the dotted lines (legal in your country) then you don't have much worry except for the frivolous suits.
