Have you looked at Unicenter by CA?

As to email I haven't seen people do much there. But with Sarbanes Oxley (read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarbanes-Oxley_Act ) you may have more than the usual need.

Already developed solution

Lyn, we have developed such solution and have it for sale now. The solution includes a kernel mode driver for Win2K/WinXP and user mode module. Our solution is suitable to building firewalls, traffic analyzer/monitoring tools, traffic counters etc. On this solution we have done several products.

I would recommend Advanced Host Monitor http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/index.htm
Really usefull monitoring tool with simple interface, flexible alert profiles and customizable reporting engine. I have been monitoring over 2000 servers in several networks using HostMonitor and I am fully satisfied with it.

Look over that web site and you can't tell what country they are in. No street address, city, country, phone number.

This omission reeks of what a scam site would omit.

Maybe they need to rethink that.

If you look at the Phone/Mail order page you see the customer service information:
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/regmon.htm#phoneorder

A quick look would make you think that these are the locations for the software company, but instead it is an outsourced customer service center.

Hi,

I've run across a number of network monitoring solutions out there. One of the resources that I've come across is the SolarWinds products.

They were very effective for network discovery, management and monitoring. http://www.SolarwindsSoftware.com

The "Orion" product looks good, and it comes with a number of addons as well.

Start with web content filtering and a email/spam filter

Part of your solution requires a web content filter. For organizations your size, I would recommend St. Bernard's iPrism or The Sophos WS1000, but there are many others. You also need an email filter and that is really hard to prescribe without knowing your preference of time vs money and also how much monitoring of email you need to do. You can get an appliance to manage in your own rack. e.g. Ironport or Sophos ES or you can do a managed service with someone like MXLogic.
