Thanks for the heads up on my "missing link." And I will qualify: In my experience, dataretrieval.com is the most unprofessional, unethical company on the web.

And apparently I'm not alone in my sentiment:

I did not read the reviews and was scammed / ripped off by dataretrieval.com. I sent a corrupt hard drive to dataretrieval.com and received back a quote of 1700.00. When I decided not to proceed the company stopped responding to my emails which forced me to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge and then I filed a claim in small claims court to get a judgement. The only way to put bad companies like dataretrieval.com out of business is to contact your credit card company to dispute any charges they have made which places a hold on their money and to sue them in small claims court which will force them to spend their money defending themselves against their bad practices.

I agree with the previous poster.

I too have found that the company is very unprofessional. Once they have your money they stop all communication. You cannot talk to anyone. They will not respond to my phone calls, voice mail messages, email or any other form of communication.

The charge premium prices, and their service is very questionable in my mind.

I have also experienced a TERRIBLE experience with DATARETREIVAL.COM. They only work through email, you can not talk direct to anyone, the phone just rings and rings, they UPCHARGE you every chance they get, I balked at a upcharge and then myseriously that went away. They recovered the wrong data, would not admit and I paid WAY TO MUCH for this TERRIBLE service - but I had no choice. It was like taking your car to a transmission shop and they pull it all apart and say well it's going to cost 4 times the amount we told you, so you can take this pile of nuts and bolts to somewhere else or you can let us finish it at a unhreard of amount of money. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
