HT-SS360 Speaker upgrading

I just ordered sony's HT-SS360 (HTIB). I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. I have two sony bookshelf speakers (SS-B1000) that I wanted to use instead of the front speakers the SS360 comes with. The bookshelf speakers are 8ohm. I know the speakers that come with the (htib) are only 3ohm....Will this be a problem? Is it possible that the receiver with be able to handle these speakers? What are my concerns with trying this, is it possible to over heat the receiver or something? After watching CNETS review of the SS360 I'm concerned when playing music in stereo the stock speakers just wont cut it. I figure these book shelf speakers I'm using now are larger and have more bass so why not use them if possible.
