I've heard that the zune doesn't have video content available yet. Besides that though is it better than the gigabeat? Also does the gigabeat still work well even if you don't have a media center pc?
If you want to get your paid content from a variety of sources, go with the Gigabeat.
See links.

"He said the Zune is not Vista compatible. It is a rejiggered Toshiba.."
Go figure why it's obvious why people compare the Toshiba.
Bob
Yes it is made by Toshiba BUT it is no a "rejiggered Toshiba". One look at the 2 side by side and you would know that right away. The Gigabeat is thiner, smaller and lighter (by .3oz) then the Zune. And as much as that sounds great the Zune's screen is bigger.
Also for the price of a 30gb Zune you can get a 60gb Gigabeat.
If you want to buy video content right away then the Gigabeat is the way to go but I wouldn't be surprised if MS puts out content after the new year.
All things to consider.
Does the gigabeat still work well if you don't have a media center pc? and also is it possible that a new model of the zune could come out sometime in the spring or summer?
although it may be helpful if you want to put your own video content on it. who knows when the zune will be updated. it can happen, but you'll drive yourself crazy. there's always something "better" around the corner.
Look at sites that opened up the units and find same chips and more.
The Zune is one oddball design inside. Find a friend that's an electronics engineer and I'm sure they'll point out it looks like a rush job.
Example? That wifi antenna. Nuff said.
Bob
A touch control like an Ipod does or is it still click.
the zune has been updated it can have podcasts and they have video on the store plus it can wireless sync now
