Are there any differences in the engine or picture quality or is it just the hookups and chassis? I've heard there is an additional 'video' menu on the 'XS' series can NE! shed some light on this?
Also, NE1 have comments on the built in HDTV tuner quality on the Sony TVs? I might also consider the Mitsu 52525 if this set has a better tuner.
Anyone please feel free to share info/experiences.
The Sony web site lists an "Advanced Video Menu" for the XS ... I have no idea what it is ... I am also considering both of these sets and look forward to any replies.
I have a sony rear projection TV, broke 2 times already. The main video processing unit. Cost over $700 to fix each time. I would go with the mitsubishi. A buddy of mine has had one for 10 years with no problem. I am done with sony.
Bought the 55wf in December and I'm overall disappointed in the picture quality, but I'm a bit nit-picky. Check my 'User Opinion' for more info...
While I contemplated which TV I ran to Best buy and they had on a super sale a Mitsu WD-52525 for $2550. I couldn't pass this up and I've had it for ablmost a week and couldn't be happier. I am afraid however to upgrade the firmware since this has sent many units to the grave.
Thanks a bunch and sorry for all the troubles you all have been having...
Mits, just came out with Firmware 4.05 and it's real simple to upgrade. I use cable card and according to them, this firmware fixes any issues with cable card among other things. It takes 3-5 min. to upgrade . call 949-830-8364 to get your firmware.
