Rip sound from DVDs

by Majortom73 - 1/27/05 8:36 AM

I own a number of music DVDs (concerts, etc.) and would like to be able to play the music in my car, iPod, etc. Is there any software for ripping the audio from DVDs, the way there is from CDs? Thanks.

I've been using a small program called Total Recorder for awhile and even had occasion to rip the soundtrack from a music DVD. Highly recommended. You can find it here: http://www.highcriteria.com/.

use DVD Audio Ripper v1.0.27

DVD Audio Ripper is a good piece of software to rip the sound track from a DVD.

I assume you have ripped the DVD to a hard disk but with DVD Audio ripper you do not have to. The software will rip by track. You can convert to MP3, or WAV.

I have not fooled around with surround sound, just the stereo tracks. You can then move the tracks to another piece of software to clip long appaluse segments out of the song if you want.

Hope this helps

I have done this a few times and it works. Sound from DVD to Amplifier to Line In on PC , save to Hard disk using Nero 6 or CoolEdit . Save as MP3 or WAV.
