Wireless Earphones

by Gilbert - 11/6/04 9:09 PM

I'd sure like to see someone come out with a wireless mp3 receiver that would slip onto a belt or with a arm band with a wire to the 'in the ear earphone' rather then the great big wireless earphones now on the market. Doing my lawn or playing in the yard or doing any kind of work around the house with those big ear muffs is really uncomfortable, whereby a nice small in the ear earphone could be worn comfortably and the reciever could be a comfortable size worn on the belt etc. Why does the reciever have to be in the earphones themselves? How nice it would be to exercize without having the earphones always slipping down over your forhead or down to the back of your neck. I even had a situation where the earmuff type slipped around to in front of my face as I turned my head quickly. What do you think? Gil

There actaully was a wireless set like that on the market a few years back. It looked like a little pager and it had a headpone jack that you could plug any headphones you wanted into it. However, now this is just what I've been told, it was pulled from the market 3 years ago because it was suppoesdly interfering with people who had mechanical hearts(forgive me but I forget the world for it)
However, I'm sure if one does some searching on eBay, or around the net you might be able to find it or a company that might be reselling them. I don't remember the name of the company that made it, but I know it is the same company that makes several of the wireless speaker (not headpone) sets that Best Buy still sells.

I'm looking for something similar. I want earpones that will fit under my motorcycle helmet (the earbud type, I think) and a transmitter device that I can plug into the earphone jack of my xm-radio.

I know that there have been wireless in-ear monitor setups for bands for quite a awhile. Check out products from companies like Nady and Rolls for inexpensive versions.

I've been looking for a while for some earbud-wireless headphones. Of course I havnt found any yet, which is a huge bummer. I would use them tons, I especially hate the wires with the ones I have now. If u do find anything thatd be great!

of course they appeared like 3 years after we started this conversation, but there's finally something that looks like it will do what I need, yay!

i dont know what kind of mp3 player you have but creative is coming out with wireless headphones for the zen micro. it puts the player in a case that makes it kind of bulky and up to 5 headphone sets can listen to the same one they come in all of the colors the micros do

Discreet wireless headphones to hide from the teacher!

by dalzuga - 6/11/05 12:21 PM In reply to: Wireless Earphones by Gilbert

Hi! Daniel here! I am 14 and I was looking for small wireless headphones to listen in class without being caught by Mr. Landman (the strict Dean of my school that must've been born in the army), and I found out exactly what you (and I) want, although you need quite a sum of money to get it and that you shouldn't expect so much of a sound quality from a pair of small wireless earbuds. So, btw, here it is:

http://www.advanced-intelligence.com/audio.html?1586 or http://www.spy.th.com/spycat.html (scroll down and you will see the model AU088 earphones). These cost $440, and I don't even know if they plug in an 1/8 inch plug. However, they fit your human ear canal, so they're unseeable (perfect for me). And also, thanks to their referance to exams, I remembered I could do that too, lol :)

You could also Google in 'spy shop' in Google and you will find out about more spy gear. If you wanna see the earphones again just Google in 'spy shop AU088'. Greetz!

Daniel :)
