by Nihar Dalmia - 12/13/04 6:22 AMHi. I need urgent help to my problem. Please help me out.I am experiencing a very wierd problem. I cannot access my hotmail account since the last 3 days. I can access other hotmail accounts from my desktop. I tried using other computers but got the same problem. I can sign into msn messenger perfectly and can see that i have 7 new email messages but the moment i click on it IE tries to connect but then i get a blank page with 'done' written in the status bar.It doesn't even get into my hotmail account. I already sent 3 mails to hotmail customer support with no reply. I am using windows XP with service pack 1 completely updated. I use Internet Explorer 6.x . Please help me out as soon as possible.. THANKS SO MUCH ...

MSN Messenger and Hotmail do experience outages that can afflict some accounts and not others. If one account works and not the other this it's an outage and not your PC.
It is a free service so they feel no compunction to make it work all the time.
The only other item to try, if you feel like it is to see if FIREFOX the other browser works.

I downloaded firefox and guess wat ?.. It works. I can access the same hotmail account now that never worked on IE. Unbelievable. But i really wonder why and how it happened?. What was wrong with IE and why is it different accessing it from firefox?. anywayz. Thanks a ton for helping out. Atleast now i can access my mails from somewhere. Am interested though how it worked. Thanks again.

A lot of people ask this question. We do have IEFIX to cure minor ills, then many never run disk cleanup and empty the cache, but do try it.
After that, we look for spyware.

Why is that considering IE is Microsoft? Why can Firefox get in but not IE? I have cleared the cache and temp files and am spyware free yet still the same troubles.

It began when hotmail upgraded everyone from 2 MB to 250 MB space. But I went to the MS security update site. This site scanned my laptop and warned me of 23 critical security updates. I downloaded all, rebooted, and amazingly, there was my hotmail account - no problem.
