Lines and poor picture on my display. Monitor or Card?
by Jadefa - 12/21/04 7:33 PMI have a Dell Dimension 4100 w/ 19" Dell trinitron monitor & NVIDIA GeForce 2 64mb video card. All of the sudden (instantly) the picture on my display faded & lines appeared. When I pull up the display settings on the monitor the menu is perfect (clear & bright). My device manager says that the video card is operating properly. Is there any way of narrowing it down to one component?

It appears as a video ram problem, either on the deicated video ram or system ram which many times is used for expanding video capabilities, beyond a certain point. -OR- is you hadn't already use the latest video drivers and check results. You should alsdo reseat the video cable several times as well, plus verify no bent/broken pins.
