dell 3000 vs dell 4700

by optionist - 12/12/04 10:49 PM

I'm debating between the two w/ following configurations:

P4, 3.0 GHz
256 ram
40 gig hd
17" flat panel monitor

I mainly use it for day to day use (non-gamer). The price difference is between $80 to $100 w/ the same configurations. So is it worth the price difference?

Also, w/ 4700 series, it comes w/ serial ATA. Can I still add second Ultra HD of my own to this config. Does either support the second HD bay?

Thanks.

I know that the 4700 has a second bay for an addition HD but it is a tight space and may require the removal of the factory installed unit to get to it. Hope this helps. I purchased the 4700 in November and it works great. P4 3.0 HT, 160GB HD, 2-DVD rom drives, one is 16X DVD burner +-RW dual layer. 128 video card and 17" LCD monitor for $820. I still can't beat the price.
