Transferring e-mail files from an old pc to a new pc

by pr - 12/6/04 1:16 PM

My older computer finally took it's last breath. I purchased a new pc and want to transfer the old e-mail files (Sent Messages) to my new one. The older pc "works" but is no longer e-mail capable. How can I get my old files transferred? Both computers have operating CD-W/RW drives. Thanks for any help. Paul

Depending on what email program you were using on the old machine, you should be able to export the old messages to a file, burn them to cd, then import them on the new computer.

For example, Outlook offers this functionality under "File > Import and Export". You can also export/import your account information and your mail rules if applicable.

Hope this helps.
