Have just been infected with the virus W.32.Pinfi
Norton Antivirus has not been able to open it or repair it
I cant delete it either
What should I do
Can any body help

Use all five to eradicate any possible junk from your computer first and then we'll help you fix anything left over.

I ran a full system scan with Norton A/V and this time was able to put it into quarintine and delete it from there
I do already have Spybot, Adaware and Spyhunter and have now run all three
Hopefully it's gone but I will still download and run the others you suggested

Many of us often wonder if Cursorcowboy isn't just a roving script that searches the MSKB for documents that might, at some point, contain a word or phrase in common with the original post and then posts a link to it. It's the only way you can explain telling someone to get spyware removal tools to clear up a virus without resorting to assuming they're a complete and total smegging idiot.
That aside, assuming Norton can't seem to clear things up, McAfee (I think it's McAfee) makes a handy little program called Stinger. It's a virus scanner that fits on a floppy basically, and only scans for the 30 or so most common viruses and worms instead of the thousands that a full virus scanner looks for (most of which are basically extinct). It would be a good idea to go to a "clean" computer (like maybe one at work) and download a copy of Stinger and put it on a floppy that you can keep in a safe place. Then you always have a backup in case your main scanner fails for whatever reason. There have been times where Stinger managed to clean a system that Norton or McAfee's regular virus scanners couldn't.

Did wonder how spyware tools could clear a virus
but anyway I think Norton has removed it, when I do a full scan it displays "0 infected files"

One Item that has not been mentioned....
System Restore in ME and Xp.
A virus that attaches itself to your system becomes part of the restore points which are protected by the O/S and may be why you cannot do anything with the virus. Also being part of the restore points each restore you do you are re-infecting yourself.
For that reason turn off system restore, reboot to safe mode (Safe Mode loads into memory just enough of the O/S to run. (simplifed).) and run your scans.
