I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOWS XP SP2 WHEN I WANT TO TURN OFF MY COMPUTER IT DOES NOT TRURN OFF, SO I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF MANULLY AT MY TOWER,I HAD THIS PROBLEM ONCE BEFORE, BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW I CLEARED THIS

This is rarely a hardware issue, but can be cause by a myriad of issues.
1. The BIOS was out of date during the install.
2. The BIOS had the APM or ACPI disabled during install.
Sadly, just fixing 1 or 2 or 1 and 2 will likely need XP installed again.
3. The XP CD was installed, but the person doing the install didn't install motherboard and other drivers. Or types in all capital letters.
4. The installer didn't read http://aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.php Sorry, but this web site will have a mix of upper and lower case letters.
