Missy,
I got my SP2 on disk and loaded it before I got on the internet and avoided all the worms and viruses that immediately attack you. I AM SO GLAD I DID!!It provides you with a firewall. It at least lets you get on long enough to download other firewalls if you so desire...from places like www.webattack.com
I am glad because I tried to get on without it and was slammed before I could even download the Free Internet Security that my ISP gives me here in Norway.
I got my SP2 Disk from the Microsoft company by calling : 820 70 105....but that is here in Norway.
The guy I talked to also told me you can get it yourself by burning it on to a CD disk if you either have it on your hard drive or are downloading it from the microsoft website. I am not technically competent to do any of that for you or I would.
You might check the front few pages of your phone book to see if, as they do here in Norway, list the MicroSoft Information Center phone number. Or failing that, get a local friend to help you burn a disk right off your file system where the SP2 resides then you would always have the SP2 disk for safety's sake.

HI Missy!
You can go to Microsoft Windows Updates and order a Windows XP SP2 CD completely free of charge. You don't even have to pay for shipping. That's where I got my CD. Hope this helps!
Hi Missy51633,
I got my free S2 CD from Magazine, "PC WORLD" September Issue 2004. (I live in New Zealand).
"PCWORLD" well known magazine.

I presume you would like to get the SP-2 Service Pack disk for XP. Just go to the Microsoft.com site, you can order it there. No charge, no delivery cost.(must be a first for microsoft).
Be nice to Microsoft and maybe they will double your order like they did mine.
CD arrived in 5 U.S. days.
Glenn
which is August 27.
Microsoft released the ability for consumers to order the SP2 CD on August 25 and the 1st post above from Jonah (27th) within 3 minutes clearly gave the site (URL) of how/where to order. Guess we just like to post..eh ![]()
I ordered my SP2 CD the 1st day on August 25 and received and installed on September 1.
