If you don't. get the cd's. its way too big to download without broadband. for a noob i would say SuSE is the best choice, except for a slow computer. if so use fedora core. for more choices visit linux.org and follow the distibutions link.

The next page has a link to sites that you can download for free. Easy install, easy configure. It auto updates itself. It is a large download. 4 CD's. 3 install and one rescue cd. If you have broadband, about 7 to 10 minutes each, maybe longer if the ftp server is throttled back because of the load on the server. Best to download at night.
