I can buy a Iomega EGO Black Belt 500GB hard drive at Best Buy for around $108.
Fry's has a normal EGO 500GB hard drive on sale for $79.99.
These are suppose to be really durable.
I'm going to be using this hard drive for extended storage on my
MP3's.
The hard drive isn't going anywhere and will be sitting next to me on top of my Bose Wave Machine.
Will either hard drive do or should I buy the Black Belt because its
built better????
As long as you make a backup of all data on the drive (on another drive or on the web or on DVD) both are fine.
If you don't make a backup, none will be good in the long run. But you don't know in advance if that run will be 1 week or 20 years.
