I have a recurring issue on my Windows XP Professional machine.
If I change my password, the next day it is invalid.
Is it possible that something is resetting it overnight.
I'm in a private network.
Are there some services running that I could look at?
Put the message you see into "quotes". Why I ask this is one time I ran into a XP Pro machine where they had the password expiry time to 1 day. And they used the word "invalid" to describe the problem.
Just in case this is the same cause, here's a google on that -> http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Change+XP+Professional+Password+Expiry

No it's not expiry, the error I get is that the password is invalid.
This only happens after "I" reset it.
I got the network admin to set it for me and the problem appears to have disappeared. So it's something todo with me setting the password, it doesn't get set correctly.
I missed that a network password or DOMAIN log in was under discussion. There are issues with this that you work out with your IT staff.
