In the initial stages of running my Win 7 Ultimate upgrade, the software advised me to uninstall the following before proceeding with the installation:
iTunes
Bluetooth Stack for Windows
Intel Proset/wireless
The last two items (Bluetooth/Intel) were preinstalled on my laptop at the time of purchase and I am reluctant to uninstall them. Please advise. Also, are there expected problems with iTunes in Win 7?
Hardware:
Toshiba Satellite X205-S9359
4GB RAM
32-bit
Current OS: Win Vista Ultimate SP 2
Upgrading to OS: Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Thank you!!!
No, you can just reinstall these when you've got Win7 installed. You can also check Toshbia's website to see if they have any updated drivers for those things, and others while you're there.
I also kind of suspect iTunes doesn't REALLY need to be removed, it's just Microsoft's way of making it kind of a hassle for iTunes users.
a version more than a year old could be problematic with win 7. remember, it took apple nearly 4 months to deliver a stable version of itunes for vista because itunes includes lower-level functionality (almost a driver but not quite) for ipods.
i recommend upgrading to the latest itunes before installing win 7.
Thank you so much. I did find some information on the Toshiba site that will be helpful.
can it be done if so how?
thanks

Buy Windows 7 Ultimate and do an upgrade install. That's fully supported.

You should be able to find the updates for drivers from the Windows Compatibility center: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx. You can reinstall most updated software once your upgrade is complete.
