Sp-2 Stalls out on step 3 why? waited a hour!

Hello I Posted a earlier thread should I upgrade to SP2 on My Vista X64 and everybody said do it!
Well I clicked on the Update icon on my taskbar. and it installed 2 and Restarted and it said installing step 3
0% Complete! for a Hour no movement at all anybody know what the Deal is? should I do it from windows updates Site instead?

Spyware, malware or the security software is standing in the way. Since details are slim in your post all I can offer is the usual plus the next bad thing. Registry cleaner damage.

HI Proffitt I Believe I Shutdown all my Security and i think everything on the Startup Tab And Put in on Normal Boot!
what other info/Details Do you need Bro!
I posted A Thread a while Back! should I Even install SP2 You and some others said do it!
so i,m Really trying it Restarted after installing 2 of the 3
and came back on and I Just had a Screen That Said installing Step 3 and stayed at 0& for Like a hour! and Do not turn off my P.C! I Don't Know What Other Info You Need! Btw: I have put my P.C Back on a Slim Star-up and no Gui Boot What Does no GUI Boot Mean? and what Settings Should it Be on if I TRY To install SP.2 Again? Thanks! in Advance!

This is all volunteer so it's up to you to follow the words in red.

Abouth the security software. Some like Norton, Zone Alarm still work when disabled. That's why when this happens and the other reasons (such as HP AMD machines) are not an issue I look at uninstalling those things, installing the update and then reinstall what I want.

Combination protections like Spybot and this or that are also known to create issues. Basically "anything that didn't come from Microsoft."
