Litl Webbook vs netbooks vs tablets vs Booklet...
Wow this sector is getting kinda crowded like MP3 players huh? Well, I just found this "litl" dealie and thought it was really quite neat:

If only it had a touch interface to draw on like a tablet...
Thoughts?...

This category of devices really has to figure out what it wants to be because it can't be all things to all people, You can;t just duplicate what already do with notebooks and smartphones. Cloud-based media services might be one such reason for being as obviously are eBooks.
That a thin tablet could replace the need for both a netbook and an ebook reader, being the perfect device for this size category of gadgets.
And I think both the apple tablet and Microsoft courier are trying to create this device.
Its just not good for reading anything over jut a few pages. eInk wasn't just invented for the heck of it. There was a very specific need. People who love to read long form works don't want to do so on some eye straining backlit screen that loses power after 5 or 6 hours.
Maybe in the future there will be some new screen technology that works for everything but for the time being its going to have to be eInk displays for intensive reading.
I've never had a problem reading for hours on an LCD. And it gives you nicely rendered fonts with good solid white background.
say anything, text only that was over 150 pages?
I'm not talking about bouncing around blogs and the web for hours on end because that isn't the same thing at all. One is a very focussed experience and the other is endless rabbit holes of distraction. I'm talking about sinking into a book and completely forgetting your surroundings for hours on end. I've never had that transparent an experience with a laptop or an iPhone, etc. There is always a distance between you and the material and you are always conscious of this distance.
I've read novels. And I found it was more comfortable read than a paperback. I'm used to reading on a computer.
