If so, I haven't tried to download it myself, because I am not sure of the usefulness of it.

I just wonder if the creators of this Firefox Add-on have thought the problem through. It is a Firefox Add-on that displays a button you can click on which then opens CCLeaner. So, you must have CCleaner installed first.

CCleaner is a very useful utility, I use it myself, that cleans out all the Temp folders, Temporary Internet Folders, Cookies, History, and all other junk that builds up when you surf the internet. But here is why I am not sure of the usefulness of this addon.

For CCleaner to work properly, all browsers must be closed down. If you don't close down all the browsers, you get a warning message as in the image below;

So, why not just close the browser down, and then click on the CCleaner Desktop shortcut?

For your information this Add-on is only 184.99 Kb in size, so even on a dial-up connection it should be downloaded in seconds. On a broadband connection you may even miss the download it is so fast.

Since it is an add-on, it should either have installed automatically, or left a downloaded file in your default download location for you to run.
