I have 6GB RAM running on a machine with a quad core intel Q6600. This is on a system that is used with Kubuntu 9.04 64bit, and Windows 7 64bit

I have 3 GB of RAM, and I am running Win Vista. Around Christmas this year, I plan to upgrade to Win 7 and have 6 GB of RAM.

I just installed Win 7 OEM on a 4-5 year old Dell 4550(P4 running at 2.4Ghz) with 1GB ram. Works great. Using an old 160GB disk with a fresh install, so I will need to reinstall some old programs, but I am very happy. Was a tester of Win7 RC on a cheapo HP dc7100 desktop and that worked just fine. So, you folks out there who are thinking of going to Win7 on older PCs, just run the update advisor and forge ahead.
