A family member made a dvd of a family gathering, and now wants copies made of the dvd (they, themselves aren't able to do it). It just a standard dvd, and my laptop plays and burns dvds. When I burned the info from the dvd to a cd, it did not play as a sideshow.
How can I copy the information from the dvd, and have it play as a slideshow on a dvd so other family members can watch it on their dvd players (some do not own computers)?
Is there a program good for this?
I have an HP laptop w/ windows vista.
Assuming you want to make exact copies of the original DVD, you just need DVD copying burning software.. Most such software has the option to simply "Copy Disc" such as is listed on this machine's Roxio 9 software. If you don't have any built in DVD burning software, there is free software at the link below which should work on your Vista computer:

Of course, you'll need to purchase sufficient blank DVD+R discs but I'll guess you already knew such would be needed.
Hope this helps.

go to MajorGeeks.com because they have an excellent choice of modern programs to use for any service. They have some for copying dvd's on computers. Some are shareware and some are free. When you click on the side category, at top of first page, click on "License", and the page will reset with all free stuff at the top of the page.
It's also an excellent place to search for antispyware, cleaners, etc. because they test them themselves.
My favorite software to do 1:1 copying of DVDs is ImgBurn. It's a very small, lightweight program (meaning slower/older computers will run it just fine) that's pretty powerful in what it can do, and it's easy to use.
When you run it, it shows six large buttons, and you can click on one of them, depending on what you need to do. I'm guessing you don't have two DVD drives, so direct-copying from one DVD to another won't work.
You would select "Create image file from disc" first after putting in the DVD with the event, and save the ISO somewhere (your desktop, if you wish), then put in a blank disc, reopen the imgburn program, and select "Write image file to disc."
An image file is a .iso file that contains the whole contents of a DVD or CD, kind of like a mirror contains the whole image of what it sees.

that refers to copyrighted material.
Any ripping program will work.
If the DVD is not protected then most burning software, Nero, Roxio will do it.
Otherwise you need DVD Fab Decrypt and DVD shrink (Both free on the net.)
Corel has several programs that are fully ********* for copying a DVD or making a DVD from several different devices. Here is the link to the Corel web site.

You need to dreate a account and then the software is fully ********* for 30 days or more. If you like the program you can get the registratin code or order the program DVD.Try Corel Digital Studio.
I hope this helps.
