I collect postmarks and am trying to make a MASTER LIST.
Is there a way to add something to the end of a text line all at once????
For example:
ABBEVILLE (AUG. 9, 195?) BETTER ONE
ALEXANDER CITY (JAN. 8, 1945)
ANDALUSIA (JAN. 27, 1934)
ANNISTON (JAN. 20, 1954)
ARLINGTON (NOV. 19, 1954)
I need to add (ALABAMA) to the end of each of these lines.
I can do it one at a time but that would take too long.
Is there a program that I can do this with????
Word, Excel, Access?
What application are you using to make this list?
Mark
Record a macro: <down arrow>, <end>ALABAMA.
Assign it to a nice key-combination (like ctr-shift-x).
Keep pressing that shortcut key - each is a line.
You can even write a simple VBA macro that repeats this 10.000 times. Saves (nearly) 10.000 keystrokes.
In any word or text-processor that can't use macro's it's three keys, once you copied the text to the clipboard:
<down arrow><end><ctrl-V>

I actually found a program called Text Master that does exactly
what I want and sorts too!!!!
