Two devices stopped working after plugging them into a powered usb hub: a laser usb mouse and a wireless usb network adapter. Both were working fine when plugged into a regular usb hub. Got the powered hub in order to use an external HD with a laptop. Could these two devices be "fried"? Could the powered hub provided too much power for a usb device?
Well, do they work when you plug them back into the old hub or directly to the computer?
No. . .neither device works when plugged directly into the computers usb port. Both devices have indicator lights that no longer come on when plugged in. That's what makes me think they've suffered some sort of damage from the powered usb hub.
