I had to reinstall Window XP - Pro and got two question marks in the device manager. I did a Belarc report before I did the reinstall and found that the multimedia device was a C-Media AC97 device. I tried C-media's web site and they have all kinds of drivers but not the one I need. Any suggestions???
That would be a motherboard driver. But without that make and model I can't look for you.
The computer is my grandson and I'll find out what the motherboard is - It was something like ASUS. Would the make and model be written on the motherboard?
Another way is to check the make, model of the PC (some go through all this and then we find out it's some HP!)
And we have softwares like BELARC ADVISOR or Everest.

Since you already stated you ran a Belarc report, does it list the motherboard type? If not, http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181
try Everest Free Edition.
The Belarc Advisor said the main circuit board was a KM266-8235. The Multimedia was a C-Media AC97 Audio Device and MPU-401 Compatiblw MIDI device and a standard game port.
I hope this helps.
