downloading content for library

by Ndboecker6 - 8/31/09 4:18 AM In reply to: Please tell more on what you do and what goes wrong. by Kees Bakker Moderator

Well I go into the samsung website and go to the content library download. It downloads somewhat fine, but im not sure it is downloading the whole th. it asks to run it and I agree then it shows it like it is doing that but then stops. I have a bunch of files on my desktop and when you open them up it says end of file.... Its like they are all just parts...not the whole thing. The brand of tv I have is a LCD TV MODEL LN52B750U1FXZA SERIAL 407428A
Thanks Deana

can't download from USB drive to TV

by StickMaker - 10/25/09 10:05 AM In reply to: Please tell more on what you do and what goes wrong. by Kees Bakker Moderator

Hello, Kees; (my name was "Kees" also!) I have the model LN55B650T1FXZC and have removed all the "content" that came with the TV; i.e. all the Photo, Music and Movie content. And in the Gallery, have removed all content from Content, removed all files from Gallery, Cooking, Cooking, Game, Children, Wellness and Others. If, beside "Others" I click "Content Management" I see my USB drive listed on the left and clicking it does show "TD Classic 003C" which *is* my TravelDrive USB drive. But it will not show the folders of JPGs and movies etc on that drive. Clicking that just gives me the list of empties (Gallery etc) again. With "Source" on the remote, I can go to the USB drive and play the content without any problem.
All I want to do is copy MY content to the TV content space.

Am I barking up the wrong tree?

thanks; Ken (formerly "Kees")

Content display

If you mean that you want to display your own media, this is done through Media Play. Your files can be displayed from the USB drive or copied to TV memory.
All "Content" is in a proprietary format and can only be downloaded from Samsung.

copy files to TV

by StickMaker - 10/26/09 9:51 AM In reply to: Content display by jw650

Thanks for that jw650; if the "content" is proprietary, and can ONLY be downloaded from Samsung, then "...files....copied to TV memory" seems to be in conflict with that statement unless I misunderstand. I guess I should reword my question then, "HOW can I copy my files (jpg/mp3/avi) from my USB drive TO the TV memory so I can play it without the USB stick in the TV.

Make more sense?

Copy files

by jw650 - 10/26/09 12:24 PM In reply to: copy files to TV by StickMaker

In the Samsung terminology for this device the "Content" is their own library of slideshows, recipes, games, etc. "Media" is the user's stuff. Either can be viewed from TV memory or USB drive, but the TV's storage is limited.

From the manual, in Media Play with USB as the Source:
"Select a photo you want to copy. (Alternatively, select multiple files by pressing the Yellow button.) Press the TOOLS button to select Copy (or Copy Current Group /Copy the selected file). The files on the USB device are saved to the TV memory"

Similarly for copying music and movies, though you wouldn't squeeze much of either into the limited TV capacity.

copying my files to the TV

by StickMaker - 10/26/09 1:16 PM In reply to: Copy files by jw650

Yes, jw650, that worked and you are quite correct; there is not even space for the 186 JPGs I wanted to copy to the TV. So, I copied 3 little videos no problem. I tried for #4 but there was only 11Mb left so, no go. FUNNY thing is, though, I then removed the USB drive, and went to "Content Management>My Contents>Gallery" and the graph at the bottom-left says "142Mb / 189Mb available" which contradicts the other page where it said it could not take the little (20Mb?) file. A bug in the TV maybe?

but where ARE my files?

by StickMaker - 10/26/09 1:30 PM In reply to: Copy files by jw650

jw650, further to my previous note, I removed the USB drive and tried to find and play the little videos which I had copied to the TV. But, I can't find them to play them...................?

TV memory

by jw650 - 10/27/09 11:21 AM In reply to: but where ARE my files? by StickMaker

There may be some space reserved for Content.

The movie clip I copied to TV memory is still there. Choose Media Play, then device (red button), then Movies.

Content for Canada/UK

Is this right for your model?

Anyone else able to use the UK site? The download links don't seem to work. Don't think it's my browser settings as the Canadian site above works OK.

Yes, that URL works perfectly for me. I must confess that actually downloading AND installing them into the TV is tricky. Got it done but it was a bit frustrating. I've hinted that maybe they should put detailed instructions on the page for dummies such as I.

Content Library on LR32B651

by deltady - 11/10/09 12:37 PM In reply to: downloading content by StickMaker

Hi, Where can I download the Content Library to Romania, LCD Samsung LE32B651? I tried: http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/learningresources/tv/mediasolution/contentlibrary_download.html #, but nothing is seen on USB (formatted FAT32). Even if we made executable files, even if we "installed" on the stick. What should I do in May? Can you help me ?

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me! My TV is the Samsung LE32B651.
I copied the contents downloaded on USB, I ran, I deleted the original file (.exe), I chose USB TV .... and nothing ... folders appear, but empty!
