I'm using Zonealarm as firewall and other firewalls or antivirus programs.
I have also tried to uncheck the boxes in the linkscanner without any result.
I noticed a marked increase in load time for some web pages as well with the link scanner enabled. Sometimes I would have to reload a page several times to get it populated on my screen. Something I never had a problem with until I installed AVG 9.0 I finally got fed up and disabled the link scanner as well. Seriously thinking about going back to Avira Antivir
Why did you stop using Avira and move to AVG in the first place. I have used AVG for years through all its incarnations and it has always served me well until now. Avira stands up well in revews aginst AVG but I have not tried it yet....David
I too had this problem with the link scanner in AVG 9 I have also disabled it and browsing returned to normal.I have not looked for an answer to your problem within AVG but I am looking at other free antivirus packages...you are not alone.
Listed as compatible w/AVG,
works really well for me,
warnings usually couple of hours clicking around,
wouldn't say any have been false positives.
Possible short-term suggestion
is to disable Link Scanner
(while you're still using AVG)
with this layer of realtime protection.
I have no time to sit and wait for sites reloading.
I found the AVG version 8.5 uninstalled version 9 and reinstalled the old version 8.5.
The performance is now back to normal.
AVG you have a problem please verify this on your website.
