Hi there,
I want to safely copy large content from one HDD to another HDD as backup. I am using the word "safely" here, because few months back I copied my entire home video collection to another HDD and deleted old source. But when I played video files from newly copied HDD, it was skipping scenes frequently (around 2 - 10 seconds). I used some fixing tool and found out there were missing bytes in the video files. So I had to scrap around 400GB of videos
I could fix them, but those missing bytes were deleted.
So, I was hoping if there exists any software which checks HASH of file (md5/shasum/crc) before and after copying the file to ensure data validity.
Thanks in advance.

Mine is two or three years old but it has never failed me.
Acronis True Image
Here are several free ones. I've heard a lot of good things about Titan

Isn't Acronis True Image for backing up whole HDD as image or something?
I wasn't exactly looking for BACKUP solutions, even though I had issue with backup.
I was looking for some software which will copy content from one place to another place, be that from HDD-2-HDD or partition-2-partition or folder-2-folder on same partition, the software should ensure that data is copied correctly and there are no data-loss in between like I had before.
I just used windows copy from my PC HDD to USB-HDD to backup.
I guess the backup softwares you mentioned verifies the file integrity after copying, but I just want to make sure they does.

Click either or both, one at a time, and read about "COPY or XCOPY".
