Of course I would love to build a pc but due to the fact that it is troublesome to get parts and build a pc especially a laptop i just stick to off the shelf laptops or pc's.
I build my Windows based PCs, but also upgrade my MacPro on a regular basis with new video cards, hard drives, eSATA, firewire, RAID controllers -- oh wait, that's right, Windows fanboys think Mac's can't be upgraded ![]()
Now watch a bunch of Windows fanboys post about Apple hardware when they don't even own any and don't use day to day. The spew of wrong information will just start flowing in this thread.
While I use some of the equipment from the older PC, It is mostly because I generally know exactly which pieces of equipment I want.
I do derive a great pleasure when everything works like I expect and I suppose it soothes my "bigger better toy" complex.
Since I have been trained and have worked as a PC builder, for the past 10 years and have built systems for public consumption I know what I'm doing; which is top priority in a PC build. The most important thing to me is the choice of parts to make the whole project easier and more dependable, depending on the applications applied. I have built well over a hundred PC's and I can tell you nearly 100% of the time it's the parts involved to make the sum of the whole. Most major retailers of PC"s (Except for Macs') to get the cheapo price use some cheapo parts. It's like most things in life you get what you pay for; if you want to get a PC on a budget do not expect it to last or perform as well as if you spent a little extra time and money on a good model. Again what apps you are running also make the difference. Remember most if not all reliable programs will tell you what they need to run well. I suggest to most of my customers choose your programs or applications first and then buy or build your PC accordingly, that may help you decide what you need to spend on your PC; and may save you alot of time and money in the future....
I would build my own computer because i know exactly what i'm getting, and not to mention its fun to build my own computer
Build. I can't imagine paying an extra 10-50% for someone else to do what takes almost no training, some research, and an hour of building. I've built several computers for neighbors and friends who are scared of technology, saving them hundreds.
I have a friend build it with my help. I'm not that confident about doing it on my own & he builds & repairs computers as a side job. I got turned off on buying brand-name complete computers years back with all those proprietary component crappy machines. I feel better if I can choose components that will do what I want done. My last one built was a AMD 64 6000+ dual-core with 64-bit win7rc, 8gb mem, 2x500gb HD's in RAID1, double layer DVD burner, GeForce 9500GT 1gb video all for less than $500. I doubt any seller of systems could come close to that price.
Yes i agree to it
